Miami Law’s 2022 White & Case International Arbitration Lecture featured George A. Bermann (Professor, Columbia Law School) on “International Arbitration and EU Law: Still on a Collision Course?" Although international arbitration and the European Union – two of the world's most robust international law regimes – have coexisted peacefully for decades, hostility between them has erupted, to the point that each of the two regimes regards the other as the prime threat to its authority. The contestation has been waged on several fronts and, while the termination of intra-EU bilateral investment agreements will mitigate them, mutual antagonism persists. Miami Law’s 2021 White & Case International Arbitration Lecture featured international arbitration specialist David W. Rivkin (Partner, Debevoise & Plimpton) on “Post-Pandemic Arbitration: Will It Be Contact-Free?” The world of international arbitration moved rapidly to continue to serve its users during the pandemic. During the lecture, David W. Rivkin discussed the lessons we have learned and how they can be adapted to improve arbitration in the post-pandemic world. On Friday, October 22, 2021, Miami Law's International Arbitration Institute hosted "Globalized Americas," a roundtable discussion based on a compendium of publications by Jonathan C. Hamilton, Partner and Head of Latin American Arbitration at White & Case, Miami Law Adjunct Professor and Distinguished Faculty Chair of the International Arbitration Institute. The event also featured: Luis Miguel Castilla, Former Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Peru; Ambassador of Peru to the United States; Eric Farnsworth, Vice President and Washington Head, Council of America; Pablo Guidotti, Professor, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella; Former Deputy Minister of the Economy and Secretary of the Treasury, Republic of Argentina; and Estefania San Juan, White & Case LLP, Miami.
On Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14, 2021, Miami Law's International Arbitration Institute and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) North America (NAB) and Brazil branches joined forces to offer an online, world-class arbitration training to arbitrators, practitioners, and students across Brazil for the CIArb + Miami Law ADR Capacity Sharing Program 2021: Brazil event.

On Friday, September 6, 2019, Miami Law highlighted International Arbitration Day with remarks from Carolyn Lamm, Partner at White & Case LLP and Distinguished Faculty Chair of Miami Law's International Arbitration LL.M. Program. Topics included: "The Idea of Arbitration, Commercial Arbitration, Investor-State Arbitration, and Careers in Arbitration" for Miami Law's International Arbitration Day.
The Global Legal Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution Center in collaboration with the University of Miami School of Law’s International Arbitration Institute held a conference on blockchain technology at the University of Sao Paolo on March 14, 2018. Professor Marike Paulsson, Director of the International Arbitration Institute, and International Arbitration LL.M. Graduate Program Alumnus, Alexander Fischetti, participated in organizing the event and were among a group of diverse and renowned speakers. All of which can be viewed in the link below. The conference discussed how blockchain technology will provide solutions and enable the evolution of conflict resolution in the coming fourth industrial revolution.
