Get Advising

The Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) is committed to assisting students and graduates of the University of Miami School of Law with their job search and professional development needs. The OCPD offers comprehensive services and resources for students and alumni.

Meet with an Advisor

The OCPD is comprised of a team of advisors, all of whom have law degrees and practical experience in different areas of law, and an excellent support staff dedicated to helping each student achieve his or her career goal.

Click here to schedule an appointment with your career advisor.  If you are not certain who your career advisor is, check your Symplicity account or call the OCPD at 305-284-2668.

Have a quick question?

The OCPD has designated drop-in hours every day from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.  Drop-in hours offer students 10-minute meetings to get answers to quick or time sensitive questions - no appointment necessary!  On Mondays, drop-ins are held on the Bricks, in front of the Student Lounge.  Tuesday through Friday drop-in advising is available inside the OCPD.

Need to have a Resume, Cover Letter or other Job Application Document reviewed?

Send the Word version to your assigned advisor.  If you are unsure of your assigned advisor, or if you are an alum, please email OCPD@law.miami.edu for assistance.

Networking, Job Applications, Interviewing, and More!

The OCPD provides both written materials and online resources for conducting a job search in South Florida or elsewhere.  Visit our Job Search Resources page for more information.
