Annual Symposium Focuses on Law and Business in the Americas

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (January 23, 2019) – Internationally acclaimed Professor Jan Paulsson will deliver the annual White & Case International Arbitration lecture, “New Perspectives on the Liability of States for Complicity in the Wrong-Doing of Other States,” on February 7, 2019.

Paulsson, the Michael Klein Distinguished Scholar Chair and faculty chair of the White & Case LL.M. in International Arbitration, heads Miami Law’s International Arbitration Institute. He is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, a board member of the American Arbitration Association, a member of the Singapore International Arbitration Court, a board member of the Bahrain Chamber of Dispute Resolution, and a judge of the International Monetary Fund Administrative Tribunal.

The institute is an embodiment of the University of Miami’s long tradition of engagement with the law of arbitration. The Institute strives not only for progress through the education of the new generation of arbitration lawyers but also for progress through research in international arbitration.

The event will take place at the University of Miami School of Law, 1311 Miller Drive, Room E352 on the Coral Gables campus on Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a reception following the lecture. Valet Parking or Pay-By-Phone parking is available on site. The event is free and open to the public with registration. One Florida CLE credit pending approval by The Florida Bar.
