Susan Porter is a lawyer with extensive expertise in diversified roles in the trust banking industry and she teaches in Miami Law's Heckerling LL.M. Graduate Program in Estate Planning. She is currently a fiduciary consultant, advising banks, trust companies, attorneys and family offices on fiduciary law and serving as an expert witness.
Porter is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, where she is a RPTE delegate to the ABA’s House of Delegates, serves as Chair of the National Conference of Lawyers and Corporate Fiduciaries Committee and Co-Chair of Groups and Substantive Committees. She is also a member of BNA’s Estates, Gifts & Trusts Advisory Board, the Surrogate’s Court Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Estate and Trust Administration Committee of the New York State Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of New York City and the New York, Florida and Wisconsin State Bar Associations.
She received her A.B. from Vassar College, her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her LL.M. from New York University Law School. She is an Accredited Estate Planner (Distinguished) ®.
