Marc Trestman earned his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law and where he began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant, then QB coach for Miami’s first National Championship in 1983. Trestman has had an extensive NFL coaching career as a QB coach, offensive coordinator and NFL head coach as well as a three-time Grey Cup Champion Head Coach in the Canadian Football League winning back-to-back championships in Montreal in 2009-2010 and in Toronto in 2017. Trestman was also a 2 time CFL Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2017. Trestman has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1982. In 2010, Trestman published his first book; “Perseverance: Life Lessons on Leadership and Teamwork."

He has been a member of the Miami Law School Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Graduate Program advisory board since 2015. In 2020, Trestman developed and co-taught the first ever leadership course in the EASL Graduate Program; “A Playbook for Leadership and the Law.” Trestman, with Associate Dean and EASL Program Director Dean Greg Levy, hosts a bi-weekly podcast titled "The Leadership Gameplan," that goes beyond the X’s and O’s to examine leadership through the lens of the accomplished guests from the worlds of sports, business, journalism and the law.
