Law Family Weekend

September 24–26, 2026

Family Weekend, held annually between mid-September and early October, invites law parents/partners to reconnect with your law student, meet other Law Cane families, and interact with School of Law faculty and staff while getting a preview of daily life on campus.

In addition to attending engaging programs and activities, you will also have the option to purchase tickets to the Hurricanes football game. 

All activities are optional but to fully engage in all Family Weekend activities, we recommend arriving in Miami on Thursday and departing Miami on Sunday.

  • Thursday, September 24

    4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Location - Law campus - Hilarie Bass Bricks (Attire: Casual)

    • Optional Law Campus Tours
    • Optional Law School Programs/ Resources/ Student Organization Fair

    6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, Location - Regatta Grove, 3415 Pan American Dr., Miami, FL 33133 (Attire: Casual)

    • Happy Hour with other Law Families (Guests are responsible for their own food and beverages.)

  • Friday, September 25

    Location - University of Miami School of Law (Attire: Business Casual)

    3:30 PM 

    • Check-in begins at the Law School, Chaplin Courtroom

    4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

    • Mock classes with Law Professors - Families will choose which mock class they would like to attend. Seating available on a first-come, first-served basis, and classrooms will close once they reach capacity. Faculty classroom assignments will be shared the week of Family Weekend. Meet your faculty.

    • Student Bar Association Tailgate at Hard Rock Stadium - Location: Yellow Lot; the exact location will be shared in the Tailgate WhatsApp group that day. (Food will be provided. Guests may bring their own beverages.) Join the Family Weekend Tailgate WhatsApp Group

    6:30 PM 

    • University of Miami (UM) vs. Central Michigan University (CMU) Football Game (Separately ticketed)

How to Register

  • Registration closed on Friday, September 4 at 5:00 PM ET.
  • Law events are complimentary, except for tickets to the UM football game.

 

Family Weekend Gear

If you pre-purchased merchandise, you can pick it up at the Law School on Thursday or Friday of Family Weekend. Merchandise purchased during Family Weekend will be shipped directly to your home.

(Only orders placed by Friday, September 4 at 11:59 p.m. will be available for pickup during family weekend.)

Traveling to Campus

To fully engage in all Family Weekend activities, we recommend arriving in Miami on Thursday and departing Miami on Sunday.
