About the Symposium
Corporations are important global actors with expansive economic and political power that can rival national governments. In this context, corporate accountability is vital for realizing human rights. It is also an evolving area of international human rights law, which has traditionally focused on state actors.
This symposium, hosted by the University of Miami School of Law’s Human Rights Program, in collaboration with the Human Rights Society, Transactional Skills Program, and University of Miami Comparative and International Law Review, will explore innovative strategies to advance corporate accountability and human rights, including creative use of contract and tort law and intersections with artificial intelligence.
