As a Student Development Director, Vanessa Kuljis works with students to maximize opportunities and manage challenges presented by the law school experience. This work includes helping students to build practices that will support professional success beyond the classroom.
Vanessa earned a J.D. from the University of Chicago in 2010, and a B.A. from the University of Miami in 2007. Upon graduating from law school, Vanessa practiced as a litigation associate at Greenberg Traurig in Miami. During this time, she also completed a secondment with the Disputes Resolution team at Standard Chartered Bank in London. Later, Vanessa was a commercial disputes associate at K&L Gates in Miami.
Prior to joining Miami Law, Vanessa worked with the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (“SEO”) Law Program based in New York City, an internship program for under-represented minority students attending several law schools across the U.S. Drawing upon her experience as an alumna of the SEO Law Program and on her broader legal experience, Vanessa worked with the student-interns in a professional coaching capacity throughout the summer internship and 1L year.
With sustained enthusiasm for helping high-potential individuals achieve their professional goals, Vanessa draws on her experience and community-based approach to provide students with targeted advice and to enhance meaningful engagement at Miami Law.
