Accessing and Completing the Application

To apply, students must submit one general clinic application and rank their clinic preferences. Even if you are only interested in one clinic, you must fill out the general application and rank that clinic as your first choice. In the application, you will be asked to upload a resume, unofficial transcript and short statement on why you would like to take a clinic. We try to match students with your preferred choices but, due to the small clinic class size, cannot guarantee your first choice. In selecting students, we consider your experience and stated interests, while also trying to provide learning opportunities to students with limited legal experience.

To access the clinics application, please use your Canelink credentials (ex: cgcent\caneId) and the associated password. Please contact the help desk 305-284-5297 or visit room C-118 inside the law library if you have issues logging in.

Students must complete the application electronically and attach the required documents to be considered for any of the clinics. Please be sure to complete the application thoroughly as incomplete applications may not be considered. Any modifications to an application should be done by emailing clinicapplication@law.miami.edu. Students should not submit more than one application.

Application Deadline

Application deadline is Friday, March 11, 2022 for the 2022-2023 academic year. For Summer Clinics 2022: applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled for the subsequent summer semester. Some clinic directors may interview applicants.

Acceptance and Registration

Accepted students are notified via email and are required to sign a learning contract. You will be notified before the start of the registration window for the following semester. Clinic students are not permitted to drop the clinic once the learning contract is submitted. Once a student accepts an offer for a clinic position, the Law Clinic will provide a registration permission number for course registration.
