The Collegiate Athlete Legal Society seeks to connect current law students who are former collegiate athletes, to practicing attorneys and judges, who share this background. The group seeks to serve as a networking resource for those who have competed at high levels of athletics and uses this connection to break down barriers associated with traditional legal networking. Group events and engagements include, but are not limited to: panel discussions, mentorship programs, and social gatherings.
Established by a former University of Miami student-athlete, this group also seeks to expand on the culture of sports at the University of Miami and sports law at the School of Law. Additionally, the organization emphasizes the diversity of athletes and seeks to attract a diverse group of law students and practitioners. As such, all law students are encouraged to participate regardless of athletic background.
