Professor Stephen Urice served for the 25th year on the faculty of the ALI-CLE course of study, Legal Issues in Museum Administration, co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution. He presented a memorial minute for one of the pioneers in museum law, Marie C. Malaro, and served on a panel discussing recent developments in museum deaccessioning. In 2020, Professor Urice and Terry Vento, General Counsel, Perez Art Museum Miami will serve as LIMA’s local co-hosts when it convenes in Miami. Professor Urice teaches courses in Elements of the Law, Trusts & Estates, Art Law, Museum Law, and Cultural Property Law and seminars primarily in Art, Museum, and Cultural Property law and Artists' Endowed Foundations: Law & Policy. He is the Arts Track Director for Miami Law's LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law.
