Jan Jacobowitz Speaks at ABA Meeting on Social Media and at ABA Webinar Program

Lecturer in Law Jan L. Jacobowitz recently spoke at the American Bar Association TIPS Member Mondays Webinar program on "Life of the Litigator: Civility & Well-Being for the Zealous Advocate." Jacobowitz spoke about mindfulness, decision-making and professionalism. Her comments were based, in part, on the chapter that she authored for the book The Essential Qualities of the Professional Lawyer. She also recently presented on social media at the AALS Annual Meeting on a panel titled “Email, Social Media and Online Student Interaction” that was moderated by Miami Law Dean of Students Janet Stearns. Jacobowitz is the co-author of the book, Legal Ethics And Social Media, A Practitioner’s Handbook, published by the ABA in June 2017. Jacobowitz is also the Director of the Professional Responsibility & Ethics Program at Miami Law. She has written and been a featured speaker throughout the country on topics such as Legal Ethics in Social Media and Advertising, Lawyer’s First Amendment Rights, Cybersecurity for Lawyers, Technology and the Law, Attorney Fees, and E-Discovery. In addition to PREP, Jacobowitz teaches Mindful Ethics: Professional Responsibility for Lawyers in the Digital Age and Social Media and the Law.
