Professor Mary Anne Franks Speaks at Microsoft Latin America’s Annual Corporate and Legal Affairs Summit


Professor Mary Anne Franks was guest speaker at Microsoft Latin America’s annual Corporate and Legal Affairs Summit addressing “Technology and the Role of Women and Minorities.” Professor Franks addressed many issues impacting women and minorities interacting with technology and working in the tech sector, as well as the implications that the lack of diversity represents for a workplace environment and for product development.  Professor Franks also recently participated in a panel discussion
on the Public Safety Role of Social Media and Technology Companies at the University of Maryland School of Law.  Professor Franks teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, First Amendment law, family law, and Law, Policy, and Technology. She is the Vice-President and Legislative & Tech Policy Director of the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating online abuse and discrimination.
