Professor Bernard Perlmutter Receives Hugh Glickstein Award and Publishes Book Chapter


Bernard Perlmutter, Professor of Clinical Legal Education and Co-Director of the Children & Youth Law Clinic, was honored with the Hugh Glickstein Award for his contributions in the field of children’s law.  The award was presented by the Public Interest Law Section of the Florida Bar.  Professor Perlmutter also published a book chapter titled “’Letting Kids Be Kids:’ Youth Voice and Activism to Reform Foster Care and Promote ‘Normalcy’” in 72 Studies in Law, Politics and Society.  He recently presented at the XXXVth International Congress on Law and Mental Health at Charles University in Prague where he discussed “Interdisciplinary and Collaborative Approaches Using Therapeutic Jurisprudence to Elevate Frontline Practices in Child Welfare Cases.”  He was also recently invited to join Global Advisory Council of the newly established International Society for Therapeutic Jurisprudence.
