Lecturer in Law Jan L. Jacobowitz recently participated as a panelist at the National Advertising Division’s Annual Conference in New York City. The panel, “Ethics & Lawyers’ Use of Social Media: #AD – Advertising or Solicitation?” explored the ethical landmines lurking in cyberspace for attorneys who advertise online. Jacobowitz is the Director of the Professional Responsibility and Ethics Program at Miami Law. She also teaches the courses Social Media and the Law and Mindful Ethics: Professional Responsibility for Lawyers in the Digital Age. She has written and been a featured speaker or panelist on topics such as Legal Ethics in Social Media and Advertising, Lawyer’s First Amendment Rights, Cultural Awareness in the Practice of Law, Mindful Ethics, Attorney Fees, and Cyber Security for Lawyers.
