Judges from the First District Court of Appeal held court for Miami Law students at the University of Miami Shalala Student Activities Center last week. Judge James R. Wolf, J.D. ’75, Chief Judge L. Clayton Roberts, and Judge Bradford L. Thomas heard three arguments on three workers’ compensation cases. In one case an employee was shot during a robbery at the auto parts store where he worked, and two cases involved police departments - one resulting from a fall and the other from exposure to methamphetamine production.
First District Court of Appeal Judge James R. Wolf, J.D. ’75, presented a lunchtime lecture, “Appellate Advocacy” to Miami Law students last week. Judge Wolf has sat on Florida’s 1st DCA since 1990, serving as chief judge from July 2003 until June 2005.
