Exchange Program with University of Haifa

Miami Law has expanded its international reach to include an exchange agreement with the University of Haifa. This program offers intellectually and culturally exciting opportunities for Miami students. 

The one semester exchange opportunity will be available for a maximum of three 2L or 3L students during the spring from February to May. Absolutely no knowledge of Hebrew is required. Course credits earned in Haifa count toward the UM degree. Information on the program and the English courses offered in the law school can be found here.

About the University

The Law School at University of Haifa is one of the leading law schools in Israel offering a Bachelor in Law (LL.B.) program, a Master in Law (LL.M.) program and a Doctorate in Law (Ph.D.) program. The campus of the University of Haifa spreads along a Carmel Mountain ridge southeast of the city of Haifa and is surrounded by the Carmel National Park. The University offers six Faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences and Science Education, Law, Social Welfare and Health Studies, and Education; and five Schools: Business Administration, Social Work, History, Public Health, and Political Sciences. About Haifa

Haifa, Israel's third largest city, is located on the Mediterranean Sea. Its location makes is a city of spectacular views, particular of Mt. Carmel and the bay. Haifa hosts the world-famous Bahai Gardens. It is a modern, cosmopolitan city, whose 265,000 residents include Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze and Bahais. The city's restaurants, museums, cultural performances, natural beaches and the Mt. Carmel National Park make it a delightful place to spend a semester. In addition, because of its small size, trips to tourist sites in Israel, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem are easily arranged.

To Apply

Please send this information by March 1st for fall semester and October 1st for spring semester:

  • A short letter (1-2 pages) stating the reasons for interest;
  • A listing of significant international experience (growing up in a foreign country, work in the Peace Corps, the military or business, studying for a semester or more abroad), and/or extensive academic training in international relations, international business area studies, or related fields;
  • A copy of one’s CV (including language competencies); and
  • Law school GPA and grades in relevant courses, or a copy of law school transcript.

Tuition, Fees, Social Events & Housing

  • Incoming exchange students: pay tuition to their home school, and required student health insurance and University fees to the University of Miami.
  • Outgoing Miami Law students: pay tuition and other required fees to the University of Miami School of Law. Miami Law students pay no tuition or fees to the partner school except for certain social events and discretionary fees.
