Hon. Deborah White-Labora, Miami-Dade County Criminal Court Drug Treatment Court
The Judges’ Advisory Board will assist Prof. Winick and his collaborators in conducting research into the "Problem-Solving Courts" in South Florida and elsewhere, and in applying for grants to government agencies and private foundations to fund such research. The Board also will hold periodic meetings to discuss the ethical challenges faced by judges serving in these courts, and to formulate suggestions for how judges can deal with them. The judges’ advisory board will meet on September 8 to plan for implementation of the Center’s recently awarded “Therapeutic Jurisprudence Judges’ Advisory Board – Study of Applied Judicial Ethics in Problem-solving Courts and Factors that Predict Successful Outcomes,” Arsht grant.
