Summer Abroad Programs brochure resulting
from a Greek government port restriction, the Optional Pre-Program Greek
Island Cruises will now visit for
two nights in Aegina Island. Thus the Contiki Holidays 8-day or 11-day
Greece Cruise now includes Athens
and Aegina Island and not Santorini as stated throughout the brochure.
The Island of Aegina is located in the Saronic Gulf,
only 17.5 nautical miles from the Port of Piraeus.
The boat trip from Piraeus to Aegina Town takes only 40 minutes. Aegina
is the perfect spot to enjoy local
cuisine, beaches, culture, nightlife and shopping. Take some time to relax
on the gorgeous beaches, swim
in the glimmering blue water, or visit one of the oldest surviving temples
in all of Greece, the Afaia
Temple.
The Apollo Hotel is a hotel where you will feel completely
free. You are welcome as you are, in your
sportswear or bathing clothes. The Apollo Hotel has 107 rooms with all
its comforts. A fantastic view of the
special beauties of the island is experienced from your own balcony. The
Apollo Hotel has a big swimming
pool, tennis courts, mini-golf, boats for water skiing and a natural green
garden. Its restaurant offers
specialties of the Greek and international cuisine. German and English
is spoken. Close by is Agia Marina
which offers superb local shopping, excellent nightlife, water sports.
20 minutes walk or 5 minutes by bus
or car is its famous Afaia Temple.
