The Academic Program

The Tour of Spain and Portugal will conduct classes in Madrid, Seville, Fuengirola, and Barcelona.  All students must enroll in a two credit course entitled Comparative Constitutional Law presented in Madrid, Seville and Fuengirola. Classes will be conducted in air-conditioned hotel meeting rooms.  An orientation meeting will be conducted in Madrid on Monday, June 11, followed by the first day of classes.  Nine classes, eight of 155 minutes and the last class of 160 minutes duration are scheduled in total between June 12 and June 27, 2007.  Thursday, June 28th, is a reading day.  Examination will be scheduled the same day late in the afternoon or early evening.

Upon return of the ten-day break period, between June 29 through July 8, all students will arrive in Barcelona.  Four courses, each two credits will be taught: Comparative & International Investment Finance, Comparative Trends in Family Law, Comparative Legal Theory:  Civil vs. Common Law and International Commercial Contracts.  Students must enroll in two of the four courses.  Classes will be conducted in classrooms of the law school of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). An Organizational Meeting and Plenary Lecture Session will be conducted on Monday July 9, followed by the first day of classes.  Thirteen additional classes, each of 100 minutes duration are scheduled in total between July 10 and July 27.  Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29, are reading days.  Examinations will be held Monday, July 30th, and Tuesday, July 31st.
