Mission Statement
Admissions/Recruitment Committee
The focus of the Admissions Committee is to continually enhance and otherwise improve the overall presentation of the law school to the general community as part of an effort to attract the best and
brightest students to our school. Additionally, the Admissions Committee is always brainstorming about new ways to reach out to potential candidates, whether through on-campus initiatives, student-run programs, etc. The Committee is chaired by Professor Fajer and works closely with the Admissions Office and Dean White.

Faculty Appointments Committee
The Faculty Appointments Committee reviews the resumes of potential new faculty members. The committee interviews candidates, invites them to give a “job talk” on campus, and ultimately recommends the most superior candidates to the current faculty. The Committee is willing to consider candidates in all academic areas.

Academic Standards Committee
The Academic Standards committee reviews (1) policy proposals that affect academic standards, (2) requests by students to visit another school, (3) reinstatement petitions from students who have been academically dismissed, and (4) appeals from the denial of a request for disability accommodations. The committee is assisted by Dean of Students Janet Stearns and Associate Dean of Students Bill Vanderwyden.

Curriculum Committee
The mission of the Curriculum Committee is to focus on the skills-based curriculum and clinical curriculum administered by the University of Miami School of Law. The committee also examines the acceptance procedure into the law school’s study abroad programs.
