First Annual Employer Appreciation Reception
The University of Miami Career Development Office and Student Bar Association hosted a reception on Tuesday October 6, 2009 to thank employers for providing legal opportunities and legal training to students, and introduced to the Miami legal community Dean Patricia D. White.
Best Buddies
Co-sponsored the Best Buddies Miami and Broward “Business Buddies at the Mondrian” networking function on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and development disabilities

Inaugural Young Alumni Reception
Joined the Young Alumni Committee for the committee’s networking reception held at Braman Motors on September 10, 2009. The event introduced Dean White to the local community, and was attended by many prominent local judges and attorneys. Braman Motors also featured a new line of cars for display.
Annual SBA Retreat
Held the first annual SBA Retreat with bonding activities and leadership exercises August 2009
Pass/Fail Honors
Allowing students who obtain an A in a class that they have taken as Pass/Fail to be given that A.
CDO Committee
Formed the Career Development Office committee to assist the CDO in knowing what the students want/need.
Business Cards
Students can now obtain 200 business cards for $30 or 500 business cards for $35 to aid students in networking and promoting themselves.
Cross Listed Course
Obtained a Cross-listed course*. More cross-listed courses and joint degree programs with other Colleges on campus are being added. *The graduate Music Business course called "Entertainment Contracts" taught by professor and attorney Serona Elton is Cross listed we obtained.
Recycling Dispensers
Obtained more recycling dispensers thoughout the law school campus
New Fridge and Microwave
Upon student demand, bought a new refrigerator and obtained an additional microwave
