Dear Members and Potential Members,

Phi Alpha Delta is a professional law fraternity composed of law students, attorneys, judges and educators. With over 250,000 living members across the world, which means approximately one in six attorneys, we are dedicated to promoting professional competency, service, and achievement within the legal profession.

P.A.D. has chartered more chapters than any other law fraternity since its inception in 1902. We have over 192 law school chapters (only at ABA-accredited law schools), 97 alumni chapters and over 270 pre-law chapters.

P.A.D. bridges the gap between undergraduate work, law school and the practice of law. We promote professional, social, academic and community service programs designed to broaden the professional experience of our members.

Providing a forum for law students and professionals to exchange ideas, expand knowledge and continue lifelong friendships and business contacts is what we are all about.

One of the things P.A.D. is famous for on the UM campus is outlines. By joining P.A.D., students receive for free any of the outlines we have in our immense outline bank.  Non-members can buy outlines for the classes for $5 per outline.  The outlines are donated by students who have received a B+ or higher on their exams. We have outlines for most courses and most professors.  For outlines, please email Vice Justice Tasha Lynn, tlcosimo@gmail.com.

Phi Alpha Delta does not impose restrictions on membership. Students who are interested in providing service to the school, the community and the profession, and who are looking to expand their professional and social network are welcome to join. Because we are one chapter of a large international law fraternity, members are required to pay both national and local dues. The national fee is $80 and our local chapter fee is currently $20. Though these may seem like large amounts, please remember that P.A.D. charges one lifetime fee. In other words, once you have made this one set of payments, you are a member for LIFE. Further, members have found that the fee pays for itself with all the discounts they begin to enjoy upon having been initiated into the fraternity.

Applications can be found online at PAD.org, or if you email rascopad@gmail.com.  To join online, please click on the “JOIN PAD” link to the left, and then email rascopad@gmail.com so we can add you to our email list, so you can have all of email updates!

Please feel free to email me with any questions regarding PAD, the RASCO Chapter at UM or any other questions you may have.
