The Symposium will be devoted to current topics in Voting Rights and Election Law including the Supreme Court's recent decision in Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, the Democratic Party's handling of the Florida and Michigan delegate dispute, as well as a review of election reforms since 2000 with an eye on what still needs to be done to ensure every vote is counted.
Our Symposium is scheduled for January 31, 2009 at the University of Miami campus. The University of Miami will be the perfect medium for academic discussion on these matters because of the obvious relationship Miami and Florida have to Voting Rights and Election Law issues in recent elections, and the discussion will also be timely as it follows on the heals of the inauguration of our next president.
