5 Steps Toward Making The Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board
The following requirements shall be met in order to be considered for membership:
- Service Point Requirement – Applicants shall obtain the requisite Service Points by assisting the Moot Court Board with competitions.
- Applicants must obtain five (5) Service Points if completed by the end of the Fall semester; or
- Applicants must obtain a total of seven (7) Service Points by the end of the Spring semester.
- Half of all service points must be observation points. This means two (2) for the Fall semester or four (4) by the end of the Spring semester.
- Sign-up sheets are available in the Moot Court office, located in F401.

- Application – Applicants shall submit an application for the Board to the Dean of Students office.
- Applications will be made available during the Spring semester.
- Application Deadline: March 7, 2008.
- Appellate Brief – Applicants shall submit their LRW Appellate Brief with their Application.
- Applicants must carefully follow the directions listed on the Application.
- Briefs will be graded based on organization and substantive analysis of the issues as well as neatness, continuity and conformance with proper citation rules.
- 1L Moot Court Competition – Applicants shall participate in the optional 1L Competition held March 28 - April 4, 2008.
- Applicants must participate in a minimum of two (2) preliminary appellate oral advocacy rounds. Preliminary rounds will be held the weekend of March 28 and March 30, 2008.
- Minimum Grade Requirement – Applicants must meet at least one (1) of the following academic criteria:
- Obtain at least a 3.0 GPA in LRW; or
- Be in the top 50% of their class; or
- Be in the top 50% of their section
