Located at the crossroads of the Americas, University of Miami School of Law attracts and prepares talented students for rewarding careers in a wide range of legal fields—including corporate, international, sports & entertainment, and environmental law.

Degrees & Programs

The J.D. program, provides excellent grounding in the traditional subjects as well as a broad array of courses that recognize our globalized world and reach deeply into unusual and cutting-edge subjects from Islamic Law to Internet Law. UM Law offers five post-graduate LL.M. programs, including International Law, Ocean and Coastal Law, Real Property Development, Estate Planning, and Tax Law—currently ranked 5th in the country.

Within the International Law program, there is also a newly established institute for international arbitration that provides a Specialization in International Arbitration, a unique educational opportunity for those looking to develop a deep foundation in this area. Other specializations in this program include Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers, Inter-American Law, and International Law.

Joint degree programs, include various options, such as the J.D. and LL.M.,  J.D./M.B.A., or the J.D./M.M. in Music Business and Entertainment Industries—the first of its kind in the country.

Public Interest programs, including the Children and Youth Law Clinic, the Immigration Clinic, a wide array of externships and public interest fellowships, and more.

Our distinguished faculty members are accomplished lawyers and legal scholars who hail from leading universities across the nation and around the world.

Our more than 1,300 students come from nearly a dozen countries and more than 35 states.
