Degrees & Programs
The J.D. program, provides excellent grounding in the traditional subjects as well as a broad array of courses that recognize our globalized world and reach deeply into unusual and cutting-edge subjects from Islamic Law to Internet Law. UM Law offers five LL.M. programs including International Law, Ocean and Coastal Law, Real Estate Law, Estate Planning, and Tax Law—currently ranked 6th in the country. Within the International Law program, there is also a newly established institute for international arbitration that provides a Specialization in International Arbitration, a unique educational opportunity for those looking to develop a deep foundation in this area. Other specializations in this program include Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers, Inter-American Law, and International Law.
Joint degree programs, include various options, such as the J.D. and LL.M., or J.D./M.B.A.
Clinics and Skills programs, including the Children and Youth Law Clinic, the Health and Elder Law Clinic, a wide array of externships and public interest fellowships, and more.

UM Law graduates who sat for Bar Examinations in many jurisdictions reported similar high pass rates. Additionally, in February 2009, the pass rate in the State of New York for first-time test-takers from UM Law was 86 percent versus the overall pass rate of 73.3 percent in New York for first-time test-takers.
Graduate Employment Statistics
Our most recent statistics show that 98 percent of UM Law graduates seeking employment obtained positions or pursued further graduate studies within nine months of graduation.
