The admissions experts at Miami Law, authors of 29 Critical Questions to Ask About Law School, have put together a list of resources to assist you in your pre-law planning. Some general tips we recommend are:

• Apply early
• Visit the websites of the law schools for specific information and requirements and research the right school for you.
• Prepare well for the LSAT; take many timed practice tests.
• Know there are numerous companies that offer LSAT Preparation Courses; additionally, the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) offers free and purchased released test questions.
• Attend a Law School Forum and other events (e.g., mock admissions or mock class programs) that will help educate you about preparing for and succeeding in law school.
• Talk to lawyers and find out what they do.
• Take your academic work as an undergraduate seriously.
• Without compromising your academic work, round out your portfolio with activities and leadership positions.

* Miami Law will be attending all Forums and we participate in approximately 70 recruitment events throughout the country each fall. Additionally, Miami Law hosts several on-campus events, such as a mock admissions panel, mock class, student panels, and an overview of the application process. These events can be extremely useful and informative. We hope to meet you at one of these programs.

† Other than the Miami Scholars awards, which are public-interest based, Miami Law's first-year scholarships are primarily merit based and awarded on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. To avoid delays during the December holidays, it is strongly advised to complete the application by Thanksgiving.

†† This is an outside award offered by Sidley Austin LLP and is a scholarship that covers the costs of applications, the LSAT and preparation courses as well as LSDAS services.
