Miami Law will begin receiving electronic applications on September 1, 2012 and review applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. Applications will be reviewed as soon as all required documents have been received. Completion of the application by February 4, 2013 or earlier is strongly advised to place applicants in the best position for admission. Competitive applicants who complete their files prior to January 7, 2013 will be optimally placed for scholarship consideration. Applications received after February 4, 2013 will continue to be accepted and reviewed on a seat available basis until July 31, 2013.

To be considered for admission, you must earn a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university prior to enrolling at the School of Law. The Law School admits first-year students only in the fall semester.

In evaluating your file, Miami, like most schools, will carefully review your undergraduate record and Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) score(s). However, we also give careful consideration to your personal information, such as graduate studies, job history, significant extracurricular and community activities, obstacles overcome, etc. Special care is taken in the review process to ensure that the entering class is a highly talented and select group, representing a wide variety of cultural, racial, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds. The University of Miami takes great pride in the diversity of its students and faculty, viewing these differences as a major strength. Students are admitted to the School of Law from almost every academic discipline.

The 75th percentile undergraduate grade point average and LSAT score for the 2012 entering class was a 3.57 GPA and a 159 LSAT score. The 25th percentile GPA and LSAT score for the same class was a 3.13 GPA and a 155 LSAT. The average GPA and LSAT score was a 3.35 GPA and a 157 LSAT. All LSAT scores will be considered in the review process and in most cases, the highest LSAT score will be given greater weight.
