ORIENTATION 2009

Welcome to the Class of 2012. We are looking forward to meeting you all soon. We are working with an energetic group of upper class law students on the Orientation Committee to plan a program that will help you transition to the law school experience.

This web page announces our calendar for the Orientation Week, August 11-14. Soon we will post announcements of pre-orientation social activities for this summer. This web page also includes summer reading, biographies of your 1L faculty members and a blog where we discuss law-related books and movies.

Do not hesitate to contact us at welcome@law.miami.edu.

Recommended Attire
There is no dress code for Orientation. Comfortable shoes are strongly suggested because you will be doing a lot of walking. It likely will be hot outside and cool in the air conditioned rooms, so dress appropriately for the heat and a jacket or sweater for indoors.

Some students wear shorts, jeans, skirts or summer dress. Miami is typically casual though you want to remember that you are entering a professional school rather than heading to the beach.

The Dean's Dinner at the Biltmore Hotel is dressier - cocktail attire.
