UM Law School Professor Irwin P. Stotzky, will be participating in a discussion of the Haitian immigrant/refugee experience on WLRN's ( 91.3 FM) radio program, "Topical Currents," on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007, from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Professor Stotzky is an expert in Immigration Law, and has lectured widely on the current immigration reform proposals. For the past 20 years, Professor Stotzky has represented Haitian refugees on constitutional and human rights issues in many cases, including several in the U.S. Supreme Court.


Professor Stotzky, who is also Director of the Law School's Center for the Study of Human Rights, will speak about the basic human rights issues encountered by Haitian migrants to the U.S., which is the subject of a new play to be performed this month at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. Playwright Marc Joseph will also be participating in the radio program to talk about the play and his personal experience with immigrating to Miami.
