The University of Miami Moot Court Board would like to congratulate Dean Mallett and Jason Smith, winners of the annual Fall Advanced Moot Court Competition.

The Moot Court Competition is the culmination of the Fall Advanced Moot Court Seminar which is coordinated by the UM Moot Court Board and taught by attorney Harvey Sepler. Competitors were evaluated by local attorneys based on their level of excellence in written and oral advocacy, through participation in oral argument and submission of a written brief.

The final round was judged by a distinguished panel of local judges and attorneys consisting of Judge Angel Cortinas and Judge Leslie Rothenberg from the Third District Court of Appeals, and attorneys Frank Ingrassia, Jay Levy, and Harvey Sepler.

The top eight competitors are eligible to compete in the State Moot Court Competition or the State Workers Compensation Competition. Further, all second year students who place within the top twenty percent of the class become eligible for candidacy to the UM Moot Court Board.
