After a two-week trial, a Broward County jury returned a $100 million verdict in favor of a 31-year-old pilot whose plane crashed at North Perry airport on November 10, 2007. The jury found the air traffic controller 68% responsible and the pilot 32% responsible.
A rising 2L, Trinity Jordan continues to thrive in law school. During his first year, he successfully wrote and promoted his third book, "Sabotage." Published by Passio, Sabotage: How Insecurities Destroy Everything is a book about how insecurities corrode relationships. "Every person that exists deals with insecurity. It's whether you accept insecurities and do something about it. If you choose not to, your insecurities can sabotage your relationships," Jordan explained.
The first time Dr. Vinodh Jaichand ever boarded a plane and traveled abroad was to come to attend the University of Miami School of Law. "I knew my quest to study abroad was the right one when I got to UM" said Jaichand, who received his LL.M. in International Human Rights Law in May 2004. "UM was one of the few Law Schools which offered an opportunity to study comparative law and international law to persons from outside the U.S."
They call her "Rocky," much like the fictional boxer, Raquel Rodriguez is used to stepping into tough situations and going the distance. She got the nickname from a classmate at law school. "I think it was my willingness to get in the ring with the professors and not be intimidated," she says.

Rebekah Poston and Linda Dakis were roommates throughout their time at Miami Law in the early 70s.
