This year's installment of Wellness Week, during which everyone at Miami Law is reminded to be smart about health and balance, launched on Sunday, Sept. 30, with the Dean's Cup Kickball Kick-Off on the green outside the Otto G. Richter Library.

"The aim of Wellness Week is to educate the law school community about the importance of building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle," Vaishali Desai, a Post-Graduate Student Services Fellow, said in an e-mail message.

The following is a list of the events that are planned for Wellness Week:

Monday, Oct. 1. Theme: Sleep & Rest

8:00 a.m.- 8:20 a.m.: Monday Morning Meditation (A216B)
10:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Free Chair Massages (Bricks)
12:30 p.m.-1:50 p.m.: Eat and Sleep, led by Scott Rogers (Bring lunch, or snacks provided, D201)
3 p.m.- 4 p.m.: Smoothie Give-Away (Bricks)

Tuesday, Oct. 2. Theme: Exercise

8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.: Tea Time on Tuesday Morning with Dean Stearns and Scott Rogers (Bricks)
12 p.m.-2 p.m.: Flu Shots (Bricks)
12:30 p.m.-1:50 p.m.: Fitness Presentation and Krav Maga Self-Defense Demonstration by Professor Mary Anne Franks (lunch provided, Student Lounge)
2:05 p.m.-2:15 p.m.: Short Stretch (Student Lounge)
3:30 p.m.- 4 p.m.: Daily Constitutional Walk Around the Lake with Dean Stearns (meet on the Bricks)
6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.: HLSA Salsa Dancing Class (Faculty Meeting Room)

Wednesday, Oct. 3. Theme: Food

12:30 p.m.-1:50pm: Upper Level Dean's Chat (E352)
1:40 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.: Green Tea on the Bricks
2:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.: Green Tea and Rice Cooking (Student Lounge)
5:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.: Dean's Cup Kick-Off (Bricks)
6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.: Alumni Run and Networking (meet on the Bricks)

Thursday, Oct. 4. Theme: Stress

10:15 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.: Free Chair Massages (Bricks)
12:30 p.m.- 1:50 p.m.: Law Student Panel: Perform Under Pressure (lunch provided, Student Lounge)
2:05 p.m.-2:15 p.m.: Short Stretch on the Bricks
2:15 p.m.-3:15 p.m.: Pet-A-Puppy (Bricks)
5:15 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.: Yoga on the Green (meet on the Bricks)
