Miami Law Library to Reopen Monday; University of Miami Coral Gables and RSMAS Campuses Remain Closed Through Monday

(Posted: 08-26-12) Due to improving weather the University will reopen certain Gables campus student services Monday, including the libraries. Accordingly, the Law Library will reopen Monday at noon and remain open until 10:00 p.m.

University of Miami Coral Gables and RSMAS Campuses Closed Through Monday

(Posted: 08-26-12) All classes, events, and non-essential operations on the University of Miami's Coral Gables and Rosenstiel campuses remain closed through Monday. Plans are to resume normal operations on Tuesday. At the Miller School of Medicine, all non-essential and clinical activities have been canceled for today and Monday morning. Classes for first- and second- year Miller School students have been cancelled on Monday. All non-clinical research and administrative staff should not report to work tomorrow. Medical employees should receive more details at 7 p.m. tonight about the status of clinical activity for tomorrow afternoon.

Law School Parking Lots to Open on Tuesday

American Bar Association Gathers Around Prof. Rose in Homage to Accomplished, Fruitful Career

Rose, a former Vice Dean of the law school and now Director of its Litigation Skills Program, was honored by the American Bar Association on Aug. 5 at its annual meeting in Chicago. The ABA's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section chose Professor Rose for its most distinguished prize, the Robert B. McKay Law Professor Award. Miami Law's Hope Day of Service Aims to Instill Pro-Bono Spirit

(Posted: 08-06-12) Miami Law's HOPE Public Interest Resource Center sent hundreds of law students to various sites across Miami-Dade County through the Annual HOPE Day of Service on Thursday, August 16th. HOPE seeks to instill a pro bono spirit in all law students by starting off the academic year with community service and by brightening the lives of individuals in Miami-Dade's communities. Last year, more than 300 students participated in 16 sites on HOPE Day.

Attorney Scott Eichhorn Joins Investor Rights Clinic

(Posted: 08-06-12) Scott Eichhorn joins the Investor Rights Clinic as the Practitioner in Residence and Supervising Attorney. Prior to joining Miami Law, Eichhorn was in private practice, most recently with the law firm of Fowler White Burnett, P.A., where he specialized in the areas of securities litigation in federal and state courts, broker-dealer regulation, and in FINRA arbitration. He also served as Legal Intern for the Federal Reserve Bank Supervision and Regulation Department as well as Law Clerk to the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of California.
