Miami Law's International Moot Court team advanced into the semifinal rounds at the Pace/ICC Moot Competition, which took place at Pace Law School in New York last weekend. The team has qualified to participate in the International Criminal Court(ICC) Trial at The Hague on April 10.

In their arguments, team members Kathryn DeMarco (2L), William Mount (3L), Gregory Kahn (3L), and Paul Petrequin (3L) tackled the complexities of crime of aggression, a problem which was defined last summer at The Kampala Conference to provide the International Criminal Court jurisdiction over international crimes.

DeMarco, who played the role of Victims' Counsel, was awarded as the 3rd best oralist of the competition. This year's Pace/ICC Moot Competition was comprised of 17 teams throughout the United States and Canada.

"I am very proud of my team," said Paula Arias, Director of the International Moot Court Program and Lecturer in Law. "They worked really hard to represent the school and did an excellent job." Arias says she hopes the team can repeat last year's success in which they placed second in the world at The Hague.
