Miami Law's Society of Bar & Gavel helped organize a volunteer project at the Miami Rescue Mission in order to help with Thanksgiving preparations. 30 law students from Nova, St. Thomas and Miami Law volunteered at the Mission. Law students tutored children, spruced up the displays in the thrift store, re-organized materials in the warehouse, sorted donated clothing, moved boxes, and cleaned up storage areas.
"I'm really thankful for this event on many levels - the ability to engage in service, the chance to come together with students from other schools, the opportunity to gain perspective about the issues that are prevalent in our metro area, and the experience of being off campus and actively engaged with the city," said Rob Collins, President of the Society of Bar & Gavel.
