
UM Law's Jessica Carvalho Morris invited to judge the 2008 International Jessup Moot Court Competition

UM Law's Jessica Carvalho Morris, JD ‘03, Director of International and Foreign Graduate Programs, was invited to judge the 2008 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C.
Morris, the first to represent the Law School in the international rounds of the competition, judged two rounds on April 21, 2008. This year’s Jessup Problem was “The Case Concerning Certain Criminal Proceedings Between Adova and Rotania,” focusing on the tension between ensuring human rights and responding to acts of terrorism.
The competition is considered the world’s largest and most prestigious international law moot court competition, featuring a different topic in international law each year. Students from more than 500 law schools in over 80 countries and renowned judges from around the globe participate.
