John G. Roberts, Jr., Chief Justice of the United States, will be the speaker for the inaugural program of the University Lecture Series on Monday, November 13, at 7 p.m. at the BankUnited Center on the Coral Gables campus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; attendees must be seated by 6:45 p.m.


This event is open to the University community only. Faculty and staff interested in attending the event can obtain a ticket by presenting a valid ’Cane Card at one of the ticket distribution locations today through Friday, November 10, and Monday, November 13. Tickets will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The Law School Dean of Students Office is one of the distribution locations. There is a limit of one ticket per ’Cane Card. Before being appointed Chief Justice of the United States, Roberts’s distinguished legal career included serving as a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for then-Associate Justice William H. Rehnquist of the United States Supreme Court, Special Assistant to the Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice, Associate Counsel to President Ronald Reagan in the White House Counsel’s Office, and Principal Deputy Solicitor General in the U.S. Department of Justice. He was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in 2003.
