UM Law alumnus Jordan Dresnick, JD ’08, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Dade County Bar Association, the largest voluntary bar association in Florida.  Dresnick is an attorney in the Miami office of Holland & Knight, where he specializes in complex and general commercial litigation.

As a member of the DCBA’s board, Dresnick says his focus will be on advancing free or low-cost continuing legal education courses and publications to orient attorneys on changes in the law.  "I will work to better our profession and the services we provide to clients by calling on the talented South Florida Bar to offer premier CLE courses and enable our colleagues to expand their practice."

Adding to professional affiliations, Dresnick has been an energetic member of the Law School community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Law Alumni Association at the University of Miami School of Law. He has lectured numerous times to incoming and current students.  And he has worked with the Law School and University administration to advance the University of Miami's commitment to academic excellence. In addition, the active legal and finance scholar has written articles for journals and publications at Yale University, the University of Michigan, the University of Miami, the University of Virginia, and several trade and bar journals.

While he was a student at the Law School, Dresnick worked at the Kenny Nachwalter law firm and interned for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He also worked with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez, and U.S. Magistrate Judge William C. Turnoff.  Moreover, he served as an editor of the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review, as senior articles editor of Res Ipsa Loquitur, and was a Dean's Merit Scholar and Priscilla Jewett Schneller Scholar. He also served as a Dean's Fellow for first-year Property and Contracts.
