Danny Hertzberg, a third-year graduating law student at the University of Miami School of Law, will give the student address at the spring 2009 Law School Commencement, being held May 17, 2009 at the BankUnited Center on the UM main campus in Coral Gables.

Hertzberg, a South Florida native, is completing a joint JD/MBA degree at the University. He earned a magna cum laude Bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he majored in political science. He also studied abroad at the Universidad del Salvador Law School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is fluent in Spanish.

At UM, Hertzberg took an interest in community service and founded Lawful Productions, a promotional group that organizes major charity events in South Florida. Since its inception, the organization has raised over $50,000 in collaboration with various student groups. Aside from his charity work, Hertzberg participated in several organizations at the University including the Student Bar Association, the Society of Bar & Gavel, the Faculty/Student Community and Support Services Committee, and the UM Board of Trustees Master Planning and Construction Committee. In 2006, he was selected for the Law School’s Leadership Through Service Award.

Following graduation, Hertzberg, a real estate professional, plans to continue working for The Jills at Coldwell Banker in Miami Beach, where he’s worked since 2008 as an office manager and sales associate.
