
The Law School community mourns the passing of alumnus Mark L. Bregar
The University of Miami School of Law mourns the passing of alumnus Mark Louis Bregar, who passed away at his home in Houston, Texas on April 6, 2009. He was 53.
Bregar served as a nuclear engineer in the U. S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Sturgeon fast attack and U.S.S. John Adams nuclear submarines. In addition, he worked at Boca Raton News, as well as the legal departments of General Electric, American Express and Key Equipment Corp. in Houston, Texas. He held cum laude degree in Political Science from the University of Florida and J.D. and LL.M. law degrees from the University of Miami, where he taught Ethics and Legal Writing and was editor of articles and comments for the University of Miami Law Review.
Bregar is survived by his loving parents, Patricia and Joseph Bregar of Lake Worth, FL.; sister Carol Horner and her husband Neal of Boca Raton; sister Mary Jo Manzak of Apex, N.C.; sister Virginia Hendler of Dallas, Tx; sister Carolyn Jackson of Tampa, FL.; and Mark J. Bregar of State College, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Governor’s Council for Community Health Partnerships (GCCHP) Food Pantry at 225 S. Congress Ave., Delray Beach, FL 33445 or masses in Bregar’s memory at St. Matthews Church, located at 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL, 33463 or St. Jude Church, located at 21689 Toledo Road, Boca Raton, FL, 33433.
Funeral services for Bregar will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, at Babione Funeral Homes, located at 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
