UM Law Professor Charlton Copeland will present a lecture titled “Ex parte Young and the Constitutional Structure of Sovereign Immunity” at the University of Toledo College of Law on March 20, 2009.


The lecture is a part of a symposium being hosted by the University of Toledo Law Review to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Ex parte Young, 209 U.S. 123 (1908).

Professor Copeland will participate in a panel titled “Ex parte Young and the Balance of Federalism.” He will be joined on the panel by professors from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and Emory University’s School of Law.
