Novelist and UM Law alumnus Paul Levine will release his latest legal thriller, Illegal, on March 24.

Reviewers have already given the book rave reviews, with Booklist dubbing it “a riveting read filled with action, pathos, and even humor.” The novel follows Jimmy (Royal) Payne, a down-on-his-luck lawyer who battles cops, coyotes, and a corrupt and powerful rancher, as he tracks a beautiful Mexican woman who disappeared on a midnight border crossing and is swept into the world of human trafficking.

Illegal is the 13th novel to be penned by Levine, who resides in Los Angeles, California. The former trial lawyer is widely known for his Solomon vs. Lord legal thrillers, published by Random House, Inc. He graduated from the Law School in 1973.
