The Miami-Dade Public Library Foundation will honor UM Law alumnus Frank Angones and his wife, Georgie, during the 3rd Annual Library Champions Celebration on January 23, 2009.

Longtime supporters of Miami's public libraries, the Angoneses have volunteered for years to promote literacy and the Miami-Dade Library system. They will receive this year's Library Champions Award.

Mr. Angones, JD ’76, who has been very active with libraries and the community over the years, is a partner at Angones, McClure and Garcia in downtown Miami. He recently served as president of the Florida Bar Association and is the first Cuban-born person to do so. Ms. Angones, who is Assistant Dean for Law Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Miami School of Law, has volunteered to help public libraries for 18 years. She currently serves on the Miami-Dade County Public Library Advisory Board.

The Angoneses will be honored during the foundation’s Stories in the Garden event at the Pinecrest Branch Library, located at 5835 SW 111 St.
