Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Barbara S. Levenson, a 1981 UM Law alumna, has penned her first fiction novel, Fatal February, to be released February 1, 2009 by Oceanview Publishing.

Fatal February introduces protagonist Mary Magruder Katz, a half Jewish, half Southern Baptist Miami criminal defense attorney whose life starts to spin out of control when a minor fender bender turns out to be an unlikely shot from Cupid’s bow.

Judge Levenson is a senior judge in the circuit court of Miami-Dade County. In her legal career, she served as a prosecutor and ran her own law practice where she focused on criminal defense and civil rights litigation.

Books & Books is hosting a book signing for Judge Levenson’s new book on February 10, 2009 at its Coral Gables store. For more information about the event, call Books & Books at (305) 442-4408.
