UM Law Professor Anthony V. Alfieri was quoted in the following two Sun-Sentinel articles on January 12, 2009, commenting on corruption scandals among Broward County officials. Professor Alfieri directs the Center for Ethics & Public Service at the Law School.

In an article titled “Broward County officials are traveling on your dime,” Professor Alfieri said “local officials are obligated to avoid abusing or exploiting opportunities for self-indulgence on the public dime. That means engaging in cost-saving conduct, such as commuting rather than incurring hotel bills.” Click here to read the full article.

In an article titled “Corruption in Broward, Palm Beach counties: Same behavior, different results,” Professor Alfieri said “it's not simply bewildering from a civics standpoint. It's also corrosive to the public; it undermines their faith in government.” Click here to read the full article.
