UM Law alumnus Kevin E. Probst, JD '07, has been named an Equal Justice Works (EJW) Fellow for 2009-2011.
According to its website, EJW sponsors the largest post-graduate legal fellowship program in the United States.
As an EJW Fellow, Probst will spend the next two years working with Legal Services of Greater Miami to develop legal-medical partnerships in Miami that will deliver critical services to children in need. He is passionate about public interest work, and spent the last few years working as a post-graduate fellow with the Law School's HOPE Public Interest Resource Center where he established relationships with community, legal and medical leaders.
HOPE Director Marni Lennon said she is thrilled to hear that Probst is continuing the tradition of UM Law students securing post-graduate fellowships for public interest work. "Kevin’s dedication to promoting access to justice will bode well for Miami as he embarks on his legal-medical project in partnership with Legal Services of Greater Miami," said Lennon, the Law School's assistant dean for public interest and pro bono. "His ability to forge relationships, envision opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others, and his attention to detail will result in a network of services not previously available to Miami-Dade County children."
