Other considerations: At UM Law School, a “seminar” generally denotes a course for which a major paper is required. If you are concerned about your ability to write significant papers in English, you will probably want to avoid seminars, at least for the fall semester.

UM Law also offers LL.M. Programs in Inter-American Law, International Law, Ocean and Coastal Law, Real Property Development, Taxation, and Estate Planning. Depending on your background and interests, you may wish to consider LL.M. level courses in these specialty areas.

UM Law does offer several courses in Spanish. These courses are intended for J.D. law students who are trying to improve their knowledge of technical Spanish. We discourage native Spanish speakers from taking these courses.
