U.S. and Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers
The U.S. and Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers program, exclusively for foreign attorneys, provides unique opportunities:
Foreign lawyers are able to continue the study of law in a context that emphasizes American common law and the impact of a global economy on American law. Students also engage in a comparative study of the U.S. legal system with that of the region where they earned their law degree.
The University of Miami School of Law is, moreover, one of the only law schools in the United States, which offers the opportunity to count most credits earned in the LL.M. program towards the J.D. degree. The transfer between both programs is made seamless and is open to any LL.M. student, who compiles a strong record in the LL.M. coursework and fulfills the minimum law school requirements. Students may be awarded up to 29 additional, advanced standing credits in recognition of their foreign legal education and thereby earn the J.D. degree in about two years.
Chair of the U.S. and Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers LL.M.: Keith S. Rosenn
Director of the U.S. and Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers LL.M.: Jessica Carvalho Morris, Esq.
